Give your candle vessel a second life by transforming it into a new ritual. Your reminder to slow down, pause and drink water.
In Ayurveda, water is one of the five elements associated with the creation of and the sustenance of all life. The qualities of water are described in Ayurveda as cooling, soothing, hydrating, moistening, flowing, cleansing, purifying and nourishing.
It connects us with the energy of the earth, whose surface is two thirds water. We ourselves are 60 percent water.
The wisdom of water has so much to teach us and reminds us that we need it to stay balanced.
Here is our step-by step guide on how-to clean your candle so you can use it after it's done burning.
Step 1
Using the bain-maire method fill a small-medium pot with water no higher than half the size of the glass vessel.
Step 2
Place glass vessel in the pot and turn the heat to low. Heat until the remaining wax at the bottom is completely melted. Then turn the heat off, using heat protective gloves carefully pour the melted wax in the trash.
Step 3
Place the glass vessel in the kitchen sink and allow the glass to cool. Then using the edge of a butter knife remove the candle wick. Hand wash your new glass cup.
Step 4
Enjoy it as your new vessel to keep you hydrated with water, for mocktails or any libation of your choosing!
